Add User Access Overview
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for granting new users access to your Snapchat Ads accounts through Business Manager or Ads Manager.
Prerequisites
Before adding a user, ensure you have:
- Admin access to the Snapchat Ads account or Business Manager
- User's email address (must be associated with a Snapchat account)
- Desired role determined (Admin, Advertiser, Analyst, Creative, or Finance)
- Business justification for the access request
- Manager approval (if required by your organization)
Method 1: Via Business Manager (Recommended)
Use this method if you manage multiple ad accounts or want centralized user management.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Access Business Manager
- Go to business.snapchat.com
- Log in with your Snapchat account
- Select your Business Manager organization
Step 2: Navigate to Members
- Click Settings in the left sidebar
- Select Members from the settings menu
- Review existing members list
Step 3: Add New Member
- Click + Add Member button (top right)
- Enter the user's email address
- Choose Business role:
- Admin: Full control over Business Manager
- Member: Limited to assigned ad accounts
Step 4: Assign Ad Account Access
- Click Next or scroll to Ad Accounts section
- Click Add Ad Account
- Select the ad account(s) to share
- For each account, choose ad account role:
- Admin: Full control, billing, user management
- Advertiser: Create and manage campaigns
- Analyst: View-only access to reports
- Creative: View campaigns and creatives
- Finance: Billing and invoices only
Step 5: Assign Asset Access (Optional)
If the user needs access to specific assets:
- Click Add Pixel to share pixel access
- Click Add Catalog to share product catalogs
- Click Add Audience to share custom audiences
- Select which assets to share
Step 6: Send Invitation
- Review all permissions
- Click Send Invite
- User will receive email invitation
- Invitation valid for 7 days

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Access Ads Manager
- Go to ads.snapchat.com
- Log in with your Snapchat account
- Select correct ad account from dropdown (top right)
Step 2: Navigate to Members
- Click Settings icon (gear icon in top right)
- Select Members from dropdown menu
- View current members list
Step 3: Add Member
- Click + Add Member button
- Enter user's email address
- Select role from dropdown:
- Admin
- Advertiser
- Analyst
- Creative
- Finance
Step 4: Send Invitation
- Click Send Invite
- Confirm invitation details
- User receives email with invitation link

When to Assign Each Role
Admin - Assign when user needs to:
- Manage billing and payments
- Invite or remove other users
- Change account settings
- Full campaign and reporting access
- Use sparingly - only 1-2 admins per account
Advertiser - Assign when user needs to:
- Create and manage campaigns
- Build audiences
- Manage pixels
- View all reports
- Most common role for marketing team
Analyst - Assign when user needs to:
- View campaign performance
- Download reports
- Monitor conversions
- No campaign editing
- Good for stakeholders and reporting teams
Creative - Assign when user needs to:
- View campaign creatives
- Review ad performance
- No campaign or audience management
- Good for creative teams reviewing work
Finance - Assign when user needs to:
- View invoices and billing
- Download payment history
- No campaign access
- Good for finance/accounting teams
Post-Invitation Steps
Track Invitation Status
- Go to Members section
- Check Pending Invitations tab
- Status will show:
- Pending: Invitation sent, not yet accepted
- Accepted: User has joined
- Expired: Invitation expired (7 days)
Resend Invitation
If invitation not accepted:
- Find user in Pending Invitations
- Click Resend button
- Check if email is correct
- Ask user to check spam folder
Verify Access
After user accepts:
- Confirm user appears in Active Members list
- Verify role is correct
- Ask user to log in and confirm access
- Test that they can perform expected actions

Troubleshooting
Issue: "User Already Exists"
Cause: User already has access to the account
Solution:
- Check Active Members list
- If user exists, use Update Access to change role
- If not visible, check if they're in a different ad account
Issue: "Invalid Email Address"
Cause: Email not associated with Snapchat account
Solution:
- Ask user to create Snapchat Business account first
- Go to accounts.snapchat.com
- Sign up with business email
- Verify email address
- Then send invitation
Issue: Invitation Not Received
Causes & Solutions:
