Prerequisites

Before adding a user:

Step-by-Step: Ads Manager Direct

Step 1: Navigate to User Management

  1. Log in to TikTok Ads Manager
  2. Verify you're in the correct account (top-left selector)
  3. Click the Settings gear icon (top right)
  4. Select User Management

Step 2: Start the Invite

  1. Click + Invite or Add Member button
  2. The invite modal will open

Step 3: Enter User Details

  1. Email Address: Enter the user's email (must match their TikTok Business account)
  2. Role: Select from dropdown:
    • Admin - Full access including billing and users
    • Operator - Campaign management, no billing/users
    • Analyst - Read-only access

Step 4: Configure Options (if available)

Depending on account settings:

  • API Access: Enable if user needs programmatic access
  • Specific Ad Accounts: Select which accounts (if multiple)

Step 5: Send Invite

  1. Click Send Invite or Invite
  2. Confirmation message appears
  3. User shows as Pending in User Management

Step-by-Step: Business Center

Step 1: Access Business Center

  1. Go to business.tiktok.com
  2. Log in with Admin credentials
  3. Select your Business Center (if multiple)

Step 2: Navigate to Members

  1. Click Members in left sidebar
  2. Click + Add Member

Step 3: Add the Member

  1. Enter email address
  2. Select Business Center role:
    • Admin - Full Business Center access
    • Employee - Limited to assigned assets
  3. Click Next

Step 4: Assign Assets

  1. Select Ad Accounts tab
  2. Check the accounts they should access
  3. For each account, select permission level:
    • Admin - Full ad account access
    • Operator - Campaign management
    • Analyst - View only
  4. Optionally assign:
    • Pixels
    • Catalogs
    • Creative assets

Step 5: Complete Invitation

  1. Review assignments
  2. Click Invite
  3. User receives email invitation

Post-Invite Actions

Immediate

  • Confirm invite shows as Pending in User Management
  • Notify the user to check their email
  • Provide account name/ID so they select correct account

Within 24 Hours

  • Follow up if they haven't accepted
  • Verify invite didn't go to spam folder
  • Resend if needed

After Acceptance

  • Confirm user appears as Active in User Management
  • Verify they can see the correct account
  • Have them test a basic action (view campaign, run report)
  • Log the access grant in your records

Invite Email Not Received?

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check spam/junk folder - TikTok emails sometimes filtered
  2. Verify email address - Must exactly match TikTok account
  3. User needs TikTok Business account - They must sign up first at business.tiktok.com
  4. Wait 10-15 minutes - Sometimes delayed
  5. Resend invite - Cancel pending and send new one

Invite Expired?

Invites expire after 72 hours. To fix:

  1. Go to User Management
  2. Find the pending invite
  3. Click Revoke or Cancel
  4. Send a new invite

Bulk User Addition

For adding multiple users (agencies, large teams):

Via CSV Upload (Business Center)

  1. Go to Business Center → Members
  2. Click Bulk Add (if available)
  3. Download CSV template
  4. Fill in: email, role, account access
  5. Upload completed CSV
  6. Review and confirm

If bulk upload unavailable, process requests in batches:
