Update User Access in Clicky

How to modify user roles, permissions, and access levels in Clicky. Covers role changes, app access management, API key rotation, and common access update.

Updating User Permissions

Modify existing user access to reflect changing roles, responsibilities, or project assignments.

Changing Access Levels

Modify User Permissions

  1. Log into Clicky
  2. Navigate to PreferencesUsers
  3. Find the user in the list
  4. Click Edit next to their name
  5. Adjust the permission level:
    • Upgrade to Admin
    • Downgrade to User
    • Restrict to View Only
  6. Save changes

Permission Changes Take Effect

  • Changes apply immediately
  • User may need to refresh their session
  • No notification sent automatically (inform them separately)

Modifying Site Access

Add Sites to Existing User

  1. Go to PreferencesUsers
  2. Click Edit on the user
  3. Check additional sites in the site list
  4. Save changes

Remove Site Access

  1. Edit the user
  2. Uncheck sites they should no longer access
  3. Save changes

Bulk Site Changes

For users who need access to all sites:

  1. Select "Access to all sites" option
  2. This includes any sites added in the future

Common Scenarios

Promoting a Team Member

When giving someone more responsibility:

  1. Review their current access
  2. Upgrade to Admin if they need settings control
  3. Add additional sites if needed
  4. Document the change

Temporary Project Access

For contractors or temporary team members:

  1. Set end date reminder in your calendar
  2. Grant minimum necessary access
  3. Review and revoke when project ends

Role Changes

When someone changes teams or roles:

  1. Review current permissions
  2. Adjust site access for new responsibilities
  3. Modify permission level if needed
  4. Remove access to irrelevant sites
