Guide to managing site access in Carrd, including adding collaborators and controlling who can edit your sites.
Prerequisites
To manage collaborators, you must have:
- Carrd Pro account or higher
- Site ownership
- Collaborator feature enabled on your plan
Plan Limits:
- Free: No collaborators (owner only)
- Pro Lite: 1 collaborator per site
- Pro Standard: 3 collaborators per site
- Pro Plus: 10 collaborators per site
Adding Collaborators to Carrd
Method 1: Add Site Collaborator
Best for: Sharing site editing access
Step 1: Access Site Settings
Dashboard → Select Site → Settings (gear icon) → Collaborators

Step 2: Add Collaborator
- Click "Add Collaborator"
- Enter email address: Collaborator's Carrd account email
- Select permissions:
- Can edit: Full editing access
- Can view: Preview only (if available)
Note: Collaborator must have existing Carrd account
Step 3: Send Invitation
- Click "Add"
- Collaborator notified via Carrd dashboard
- They accept invitation
- Gain access to edit site
Collaborator Requirements
Must have:
- Existing Carrd account (free or paid)
- Verified email address
- Accept invitation
Access granted:
- Edit site content
- Preview changes
- Publish site (if permission granted)
- Cannot delete site
- Cannot manage billing

Managing Existing Collaborators
View Collaborators
Site Settings → Collaborators
Information shown:
- Email address
- Permission level
- Status (Active/Pending)
- Date added
Remove Collaborator
- Settings → Collaborators
- Find collaborator
- Click "Remove"
- Confirm removal
Effect: Immediate access revocation
Removing Collaborators
Pre-Removal Checklist
- Save pending work: Ensure no unsaved changes
- Notify collaborator: Professional courtesy
- Document removal: Note reason and date
Remove Access
Site Settings → Collaborators → Remove
What happens:
- Cannot access site editor
- Removed from dashboard
- No notification sent
Special Scenarios
Owner Transfer
Carrd doesn't support ownership transfer
Workaround:
- Collaborator duplicates site to their account
- Original owner deletes if needed
- Collaborator becomes new owner
Emergency Removal
- Remove collaborator immediately
- Change account password
- Review recent changes
- Restore from backup if needed
