User management in Bookmark features:

Accessing User Management

To manage users in Bookmark:

  1. Log in to your Bookmark account at www.bookmark.com
  2. Navigate to Settings or Account Settings
  3. Select Team or Team Members
  4. View current team members and their permissions

User management is available on Business and higher-tier plans. Free and Basic plans support only a single user.

Bookmark User Roles

Bookmark uses a straightforward two-tier permission system:

Account Owner

The account owner has full control over the Bookmark account:

  • Complete access to all website editing features
  • Full control over billing and subscription
  • Can add or remove team members
  • Can transfer site ownership
  • Access to all integrated services and apps
  • Can delete the entire website
  • Manages domain settings and hosting
  • Controls SEO and analytics settings
  • Access to premium features and AI tools

When to use: This is automatically assigned to the account creator. Only one owner per account.

Team Member

Team members have editing access with some limitations:

  • Can edit website content and pages
  • Can upload and manage media files
  • Can modify site design and layout
  • Cannot access billing or subscription settings
  • Cannot add or remove other team members
  • Cannot delete the website
  • Cannot transfer ownership
  • Cannot modify domain settings
  • Limited access to app integrations

When to use: Assign to collaborators, employees, or contractors who need to edit the website.

Adding and Inviting Team Members

Inviting New Team Members

To add a team member to your Bookmark website:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Team or Team Members
  2. Click Invite Team Member or Add User
  3. Enter the team member's email address
  4. Optionally add a personal message
  5. Click Send Invitation

The invitee will receive an email with instructions to:

  • Create a Bookmark account (if they don't have one)
  • Accept the team invitation
  • Access the shared website

Accepting Team Invitations

When invited to join a Bookmark team:

  1. Check your email for the Bookmark invitation
  2. Click Accept Invitation in the email
  3. Sign in to your Bookmark account or create one

Team Member Limits

Removing Team Members

To remove a team member:

Removed team members immediately lose access to the website. Their work remains on the site.

Transferring Site Ownership

To transfer account ownership to another user:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Account
  2. Find Transfer Ownership option

  5. The new owner must accept the transfer

Important: Transferring ownership also transfers billing responsibility. Ensure the new owner accepts before completing.
