Remove User Access from Countly

How to revoke user access and offboard team members from Countly. Covers account deletion, API key revocation, partial access removal, and security.

Removing Access

Revoke access when team members leave or no longer need analytics access.

Delete User Account

Complete Removal

  1. Go to ManagementUsers
  2. Find the user
  3. Click Delete
  4. Confirm deletion

This removes:

Partial Access Removal

Remove App Access Only

  1. Edit user profile
  2. Go to App Permissions
  3. Uncheck specific applications
  4. Save

User retains account but loses app access.

Downgrade Role

  1. Edit user
  2. Change role to more restrictive level
  3. Save

Revoke API Access

Delete API Keys

  1. Edit user profile
  2. Go to API Keys
  3. Delete active keys
  4. Save

Immediately invalidates programmatic access.

Offboarding Checklist

When removing users:

  • Delete or disable user account
  • Revoke API keys
  • Remove from any shared dashboards
  • Update team documentation
  • Review audit logs for unusual activity
  • Transfer ownership of shared resources

Security Considerations

  • Remove access immediately upon departure
  • Don't wait for IT ticket processing
  • Monitor for suspicious activity before removal
  • Keep audit records of access changes
