Quora Ads User Management

Complete guide to Quora Ads Manager permission model including account-level roles, pixel management permissions, API access, and reporting controls.

Quora Ads Permission Model

Quora Ads Manager uses a flat, account-level permission model. There is no organization or business manager layer -- each ad account has its own user list with role assignments. Users are invited directly to a specific ad account by email, and their role determines what they can see and do within that account.

If your organization manages multiple Quora ad accounts (e.g., separate accounts per brand or region), users must be invited to each account individually. There is no cross-account role inheritance.

Available Roles

Quora Ads Manager provides three roles:

Role Campaigns Pixel & Events Reporting Billing User Management
Admin Create, edit, pause, delete Full pixel management, create/edit events Full access, schedule reports View invoices, manage payment methods Invite, change roles, remove users
Standard Create, edit, pause, delete View pixel code, manage events Full access, schedule reports No access No access
Reporting View-only (cannot edit or create) View pixel status only Full access, schedule and export reports No access No access

Role-specific behaviors:

  • Admin is the only role that can modify billing information. If the account payment method needs updating, a Reporting or Standard user cannot do it -- an Admin must handle it or upgrade someone temporarily.
  • Standard users can create campaigns and manage the Quora Pixel's event definitions, but they cannot see billing details or manage other users. This is the typical role for agency traders or campaign managers.
  • Reporting users have full access to all reporting data, including audience insights and conversion data, but cannot modify anything. They can export data and schedule recurring reports.

Admin UI Path for User Management

Inviting and managing users:

Quora Ads Manager (quoraads.com)
  > Account menu (top-right avatar/name)
    > Account Settings
      > User Management tab
        > Add User (top right)

Changing a user's role:

Account Settings
  > User Management
    > [Find user in list]
      > Role dropdown > Select new role
      > Changes apply immediately

Removing a user:

Account Settings
  > User Management
    > [Find user in list]
      > Remove (trash icon or Remove button)
      > Confirm removal

There is no bulk user management UI. Each user must be added, edited, or removed individually.

API Access Management

Quora Ads API access is token-based and tied to the ad account, not individual users.

  • API tokens -- generated in Account Settings > API Access. Creating a token requires Admin role. The token inherits full account access regardless of which user role creates it.
  • Token scope -- Quora Ads API tokens are not scoped to specific permissions. A valid token can read and write campaigns, audiences, pixels, and reporting data. Treat tokens as Admin-equivalent credentials.
  • Token rotation -- tokens do not expire automatically. Establish a rotation schedule (quarterly recommended) and revoke old tokens when team members leave.
  • Rate limits -- apply per token. If multiple integrations share a token, they share the rate limit. Create separate tokens per integration where possible.

To audit API access: Account Settings > API Access shows all active tokens, their creation date, and which user created them. Only Admins can view this section.

Analytics-Specific Permissions

How Quora Ads roles interact with measurement and analytics features:

  • Quora Pixel management -- Admin and Standard users can view the pixel code snippet and configure conversion events (page visits, signups, purchases, custom events). Reporting users can only view pixel status (active/inactive) but not the code or event configuration.
  • Conversion reporting -- all three roles can view conversion data in campaign reports. The difference is that Reporting users see it read-only, while Standard and Admin users can view it alongside their campaign editing workflow.
  • Audience creation -- creating website retargeting audiences or lookalike audiences requires Standard or Admin role. Reporting users can view existing audiences but cannot create or modify them.
  • A/B test insights -- if running A/B tests on ad creatives or targeting, all roles can view test results. Only Standard and Admin can create or modify tests.
  • Attribution window -- Quora uses a 28-day click / 1-day view attribution window by default. Modifying attribution settings requires Admin access.
  • Data export -- all roles can export report data as CSV. API export requires a valid API token (Admin-created).
  • Scheduled reports -- Standard and Admin users can create scheduled email reports. Reporting users can view and receive scheduled reports but cannot create them.

Multi-Account Management

For organizations managing multiple Quora ad accounts:

  • Each ad account has an independent user list. There is no multi-account management console.
  • A single email address can be invited to multiple ad accounts with different roles on each.
  • Switching between accounts requires selecting the account from the account dropdown in the Quora Ads Manager header.
  • API tokens are account-specific. A token for Account A cannot access Account B's data.

Account Ownership

Every Quora ad account has a single Account Owner -- the email address that originally created the account. The owner:

  • Cannot be removed from the account.
  • Automatically has Admin role.
  • Is the only user who can delete the entire ad account.
  • Can transfer ownership to another Admin by contacting Quora Ads support.

If the account owner leaves the organization and you cannot access their email, contact Quora Ads support with business verification documentation to transfer ownership.
